Burt, Simon, & Paul - Rat Small Animal

All adoptions are by appointment only once we have received an application. ***Due to the high number of applications we receive for our animals, we will only be contacting potential adopters to further review of their application*** A family of three boys who must be rehomed together: Paul (hooded), Simon (dark brown), and Burt (gingerish) were separated from their owner who was on business in the states when the pandemic closed the borders. Due to employment obligation the owner couldn't return home, and that left the boys without their guardian! They are about 6 months old, and, because of their hormonal reactions to the presence of female ratties in shelter, they are housed in foster care. They must go to a home without female rats, or history of female rats marking in house. Simon tends to be the most shy of the trio, but all 3 of them come to the cage when it is opened and warm up quickly. Burt is a cuddler and seeks scritches; he will fall asleep on your hand if given the right circumstances. Paul is inquisitive and comes out and up for the treats happily. However, they don't seem to be used to being handled so they need someone to provide them "trust" exercises (allowing them to place feet on your open palms for treats when they are comfortable) and not be "grabby" with them. They are used to a large double critter nation cage and options of daily free roaming.
