He requires a home that is experienced with Cockatoos or Parrots and their many needs. Whisper loves keeping active and being in the company of his favourite people. Cockatoos require a lot of attention to keep them happy as well as a lot of stimulation and an environment full of enrichments. They can be VERY loud and are often compared to living with a toddler in their demeanor. He cannot be kept in a cage 24/7 and needs to be able to stretch his wings and climb on his jungle gym. He is a very interactive guy, loving treat puzzles, tearing up cardboard and crunching on sticks. Whisper needs a guardian who is in it for the long haul. With a lifespan of the Moluccan Cockatoos reaching 30+ years, they are literally a lifelong commitment and it is necessary to have a plan for your bird if something were to happen. This species of Cockatoo is especially known for their need to be with their people. They are often referred to as a "Velcro" birds. Someone who works from home or has a flexible schedule is a must. Whisper is most comfortable in the company of men, he will sing and talk and ask to come up on their arm and shoulders. It will be a requirement for Whisper to be adopted by a man with no other women in the home. With women he is more reserved and does not like to be touched, and can act out aggressively.
