Operating systems programmer

Fintech Innovation Canada Inc. is looking for an Operating systems programmer (NOC 21230) Vancouver, BC Summary: Operating systems programmers in our company are responsible for writing, modifying, integrating and testing computer code for operating systems software, data processing applications and software applications. Job location: Metro Vancouver area, 400-319 W. Hastings St., Vancouver, BC V6B 1H6. Main duties and responsibilities: • Develop, integrate, modify and test computer code for operating systems software, data processing applications and software applications; • Support, maintain, implement and modify existing software by testing programs and making changes as needed; • Research and evaluate a variety of software products; • Identify, debug and resolve different technical problems related to operating system level issues; • Prepare reference for users by writing operating instructions; • Control access to system by monitoring program usage; • Prepare reports, manuals and other documentation, maintain records by documenting system software changes and revisions. Requirements for the position: ● Experience: at least 2-3 years as a Computer systems developer; ● Expert knowledge of programming languages C, C++; ● Experience with system-level programming, including the ability to write and debug complex code that interacts directly with hardware and system components; ● In-depth understanding of multithreading, object-oriented analysis and design; ● Proficient in version control systems, bug tracking and build systems; ● Education: 2-3 years of college program or bachelor's degree; master’s degree would be an asset; ● Language: good English, excellent written and verbal communications skills.
