About this role We are recruiting for an Estimator, Building Automation Controls to join our Burnaby office. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this is a critical role for the team, ensuring every project begins with proper, professional estimation. Here’s how your role will strengthen our team. This is a great opportunity for a Controls Estimator, DDC Technician, or Controls Foreman who wants to become an Estimator. Your responsibilities * Visit customer sites for estimate take offs to develop estimates * The Estimator will review specifications and provide accurate estimates for RFP and Design Build work. * Read engineering drawings (including but not limited to electrical, mechanical, plumbing IFCs/IFTs) and specifications and develop HVAC control system estimates * Select controls equipment and field devices to meet specifications * Provide accurate and detailed project budgets and estimates, including options or change orders * Remain up to date on estimating templates and all applicable labour, material, and equipment rates * Remain familiar with new products, solution versions, upgrades, and compatibilityYour experience and skills * 3+ years of Building Automation Controls commercial solution/services industry experience required * Be familiar with integration of various systems such as chillers, boilers, metering, and lighting panels * Experience as a Building Automation Controls systems estimator, with experience using Accubid an asset * Reliable Controls and Schneider Electric EcoStruxure systems experience preferred * Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Diploma, Associate's or Bachelor's Degree an asset * Must thrive in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure * Must have excellent communication skills * Must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work well with other people * Class 5 Driver licenseAbout Houle As BC’s leading electrical contractor and systems integrator, we believe in delivering safe, reliable power for the future. Salary range: $80,000-$95,000 per year plus a competitive total compensation package.Actual salary will commensurate with experience, skills and overall match to the position offered.
